We’re now a little over a month into our adventure of Drupal training in Europe! In December, we partnered with Acquia so we can deliver their high-quality trainings across Europe. Since we are a company focused on Open Source technology, I thought I’d let you know the progress of our Drupal efforts as well; in the interest of public disclosure. =)
divesitebuddy.com: a hands-on Drupal design case study
We decided to spend some time on generic education: our trainer and experienced Drupal developer Richard started a blog series on how to build a website from scratch. For one day a week, he’s fully freed up from his schedule to work on the site; and at the end of each day, he publishes a blog post on his progress. We haven’t gotten to the actual Drupal parts yet, but decent preparation will make the whole thing so much more likely to succeed. You can find his current posts here:

Contributing to the community at large
One of the other days each week, Richard is scheduled to contribute back to the community. This will result in reviewing patches and committing code, organising community events and answering questions that Drupal users have. We also decided to become a Drupal association member, which I personally hope we can upgrade to a Supporting Partner soon.
Upcoming trainings
Of course, we have a lot more planned! We have organised Drupal training in Vienna in February as well as a Drupal site building training in Dublin.
This is what we have done so far. We’re also talking with a lot of different parties to do many other exciting things, so look forward to more contributions from the Drupal team at OlinData!
